Alalila is a 28-key bed and breakfast tourist residence whose design journey began in 2020. Navigating through complex regulations, constraints, and permit procedures, the project reached completion after five years of dedicated effort.

The design process required balancing regulatory requirements with the extension of an existing building, while honoring the client’s vision of a tropical Mauritian architectural style. By creatively reimagining roof structures and staircases, we introduced dynamic volumes that blend traditional tropical aesthetics with a modern twist, resulting in a project that is both authentic and contemporary.
