Casela Nature Park has long been a cherished part of our childhood as Mauritians, so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to its redevelopment. Casela engaged the Sanderson Design Group, from Malaysia, for a comprehensive upgrade of the bird park into a one-of-a-kind theme park experience. We were brought on board by Medine Properties during the permit stage to provide local expertise and support throughout the project. Our collaboration gradually evolved into a lead architect role during the construction phase, with a key focus on revisiting the design of the main welcoming center. At the client’s request, we infused the design with a more Mauritian-inspired aesthetic, while ensuring that the other buildings and facilities were adapted to the local context.
