
Technopark
In August 2022, G+F was invited to propose a design concept and masterplan for Phase 2 of AVA Technopark, located alongside a standalone building already under construction. Our proposal, titled "The Campus," envisioned a multifunctional workspace where user well-being and sustainability were the guiding principles.
The design featured a comprehensive range of facilities, including a kindergarten, restaurant, café terrace, rooftop bar and sunset deck, conference rooms, fitness centre, and accommodation for visiting consultants. The architectural style, defined by horizontal planes and curved lines, aimed to minimize visual and environmental impact while fostering a deep connection between people and nature.
Parking was strategically located in the basement to preserve the surrounding landscape, while the layout considered prevailing winter winds, prioritizing natural ventilation, expansive views, and the integration with the nearby south-facing river. Vehicular and pedestrian circulation were thoughtfully separated, with car access situated at the periphery of the site.
The landscaping design included picnic areas, a landscaped amphitheatre, vegetable gardens, a winter forest to the north, an endemic forest, and garden terraces on the first floor and roof levels. Two sheltered public squares connected the four office buildings and the amphitheatre—the multifunctional core of the campus. The expansive roof surfaces, equipped with photovoltaic panels and green roofs, provided optimal thermal insulation for the office levels.
Inspired by the traditional colonial house veranda, large overhangs were incorporated as shaded circulation spaces, helping to protect the facades from direct sunlight and reduce dependency on air conditioning. This design feature, along with performance glazing, contributed to energy efficiency.
Although our proposal was not selected, this project allowed us to present our vision for a sustainable, innovative office campus that prioritizes both functionality and environmental responsibility.
