Telfair North
The Trademark and The Hybrid comprise two office buildings of Ground +3 and G+4, designed within the Telfair North precinct, at the heart of the new Moka City business district. The project encompasses one super basement parking structure, following the existing natural ground slope towards Telfair, a central promenade/pedestrian street, and four office buildings with a retail ground floor. The architectural design has been divided between two entities: buildings 57, 59, and the basement designed by Osmond Lange (South Africa), and buildings 55 and 56 (Trademark & Hybrid) designed by Iyer (South Africa).
G+F was appointed by Oficea Ltd as the local architects in collaboration with Iyer. Our responsibilities included preparing tender drawings documentation, coordinating technical services, issuing all relevant construction information, and overseeing site supervision and detail design for approximately 13,400 square metres of buildings.
All consultants worked within a BIM environment, specifically the Catenda Hub, with documentations prepared on Revit for the live 3D model. The Catenda BIM platform was established from the design phase to manage building and infrastructure within an open common data environment, utilised by over 60 professionals during design and construction, and to be handed to the client for operations management.
Collaboration between different architects was essential due to the interrelation between various project components. This project marks a significant milestone for our firm, allowing us to enhance our BIM capabilities, work on a large-scale BIM platform, and elevate collaboration skills with our partner architects and stakeholders.
